In Vermont it was about hiking and food. We toured the Cabot Creamery and sampled lots of yummy cheese, then we toured Ben & Jerry’s, which was just plain fun. We were quite impressed with these two companies; Cabot is a small farm cooperative that does not use any hormones or antibiotics and Ben & Jerry’s is “committed to sourcing Fairtrade ingredients as a way to improve the livelihoods of small family farmers around the world.”
We also stopped in at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill to buy some of their famous cider donuts, which proved to be a great snack on long hikes. To work off all of this yummy food we needed to do some hiking so our next stop was The Green Mountain Club. The GMC staff were very helpful and informed, with their guidance we decided to hike Mount Hunger, Mount Mansfield and Camel’s Hump, the leaves were turning and all of these hikes were gorgeous! We also did two shorter walks to some pretty waterfalls in the area; Bingham Falls and Moss Glen Falls.
